SWU Harvest Has Exclusive Card Reveals for the New Set!

This article is a companion piece to the card reveal video available now on our YouTube channel! For the full story, make sure to watch the video after reading the article.

The wait is finally over! We’re incredibly excited to share an exclusive reveal for two new cards coming in the highly anticipated “Shadow of the Galaxy” set for Star Wars: Unlimited – and they both look like meta-shaking additions.

This image shows the Coruscant Dissident card from the Star Wars: Unlimited set Shadows of the Galaxy.

First up is the Coruscant Dissident, a 3-cost Cunning and Heroism character boasting an efficient 3 power/4 HP statline. Those numbers alone make her one of the better stated 3-cost characters so far, able to trade evenly with early game threats while surviving most forms of ping damage. But what really sets the Dissident apart is her fantastic on-attack ability: you may ready a resource when attacking with her. This simple effect provides immense action economy that hero decks have been desperately craving.

Hero players are all too familiar with having to pay resource taxes just to activate key abilities (like the “Falcon Tax”). The Dissident smooths out that resource management by granting you a free resource every single attack step. No more choosing between developing your board or activating abilities!

The Coruscant Dissident will help with aggressive rushdown strategies that want to apply steady pressure while chaining abilities each turn. Pairing her with Han, for example, may help set up huge swing turns. Conversely, she makes resource-costly combos much more accessible in slower decks.

Her unique proactive ability is also much better than having to bank resources to reuse, like Boba Fett’s similar trick. And, as an Uncommon, she will appear relatively regularly in the cards passed to you during a Draft.

With sturdy stats to match her efficient cost and incredibly flexible ability, I expect Coruscant Dissident to be a staple include in just about any Hero deck looking to apply early pressure while generating a huge resource advantage. The fantastic art by Omercan Cirit is just the icing on the cake.

This image shows the Migs Mayfeld card from the Star Wars: Unlimited set Shadows of the Galaxy.

But that’s not all! We also have the 2-cost Aggression “Triggerman” Migs Mayfeld (featured on The Mandalorian) as our second “Shadow of the Galaxy” preview. This unassuming 2/2 gunslinger packs a surprising amount of impact through his ability: “When a player discards a card from their hand, you may deal 2 damage to a unit or base. Use this ability only once per round.”

Migs provides immense threat through his triggered discard damage pings. Being able to deal 2 damage just from discarding is a huge offensive capability, with Migs already synergizing perfectly with the discard adjacent abilities on the freshly-spoiled Leader Kylo Ren.

But Kylo is just the start – other key cards that we know about right now which partner well with Migs’ ability:

While fragile at just 2 health, Migs should have no problem sticking around long enough to get a few activations in aggro decks built to constantly refill the board. And getting even 1-2 trigger pings is more than enough value from such a cheap cost. His rarity as a Rare card also makes him an exciting needle-mover to open in Limited formats.

For dedicated aggro and discard decks, Migs seems like an auto-include to apply constant face pressure and removal. But even in other aggressive strategies, he provides crucial flexibility as removal against key units or reach against vehicles in the late game.

Between the resource-generating Coruscant Dissident and the damage-dealing Migs Mayfeld gunslinger, these two new “Shadow of the Galaxy” cards are sure to make waves in the Star Wars: Unlimited metagame! What strategies are you most excited to unleash with them? Let us know in the comments below.

Thank you to Fantasy Flight Games for giving us the opportunity to spoil these two new cards. They, along with all of the other new offerings, will be availalbe when the new set releases on July 12th. Make sure to attend a Pre-Release if possible, and then crack some packs from your FLGS!
