See It? Snag It? Cunning Edition

From everything that we’ve seen in the leadup to launch, Star Wars: Unlimited appears to have been built with Draft in mind. For the more Cunning among us, what alignment-free cards should we be on the lookout for? I’ve chosen five cards below that, as Commons and Uncommons, should be plentiful in your packs. Not all of these are stars in Constructed, but should boost your Limited format deck.

This beautiful yellow ship is not strong or sturdy. However, the ability to draw a card for 2 resources is fantastic when your deck is not optimized. You will more likely than not have a few rounds where you find yourself with space bucks burning a hole in your pocket. Toss a couple this unit’s way to draw a card.

4. Snapshot Reflexes

I know, I know… Shoot First is a better card than Snapshot Reflexes. That may be the case in Constructed, but in Draft Snapshot Reflexes edges it out. First, it’s a Common card. Second, its bonus lasts for multiple rounds. Finally, it gives you much-needed action economy by doubling the bonus to attack and defense with a free attack action. While I may not prioritize this over a great unit, I’m grabbing it each time I can.

3. Greedo

Sure, he was only on screen for one minute and seventeen seconds. But what he lacks in silver screen exposure he makes up for in damage. Getting 3 attack for one resource is fantastic. His ability is not great in a Draft deck since you will usually want to load up on Units. But, under the right circumstances, it may pay off to slide in a few extra hits.

2. Jawa Scavenger

Utinni! Do not discount this 2/1 pest. Sabotage is, potentially, the strongest keyword in the game. That Common rarity should also ensure that these can be collected by the handful. Head right past your opponent’s Sentinel characters and stroll right into their base at will for a leg-up in your Draft games.

1. Waylay

While Units may be your primary targets in Draft, there is no question that one of the best cards in the game is an Event. Star Wars: Unlimited is all about turn cadence. Waylay lets you break up your opponent’s rhythm, and can ruin a well-planned defense. This Common card fits perfectly in any Yellow deck, and is good early, mid, or late game.

Cunning has no shortage of great cards to keep an eye out for in a draft. Once you add in the Heroic and Villainous Units and Events, things become even more crowded. But pass on the above five at your own peril, or someone may sneak one into your game on their side of the table.
